Container recycling
Many agrichemicals and animal health products are sold in handy, portable plastic containers of up to 60 litres.
Agrecovery was established in 2005 to give farmers an opportunity to recycle these containers, rather than burn or bury them. Containers are accepted at over 160 collection sites around New Zealand. Agrecovery also collects drums from farms for convenient recycling.
We are one of the founders of the Agrecovery rural recycling programme and our members support the scheme by paying a levy on all products sold.
Recovering chemicals
Growers and farmers ideally try to purchase only what they need to control the pests and diseases on their farms. But sometimes they are left with surplus product they cannot use.
Agrichemicals are collected via periodic regional collection events that are scheduled throughout the year.
